Newbie and lost!

Hello! I have only just installed this programme, and the files i have choosen to down load are not doing anything and im not sure why?

Remotely queued comes up for 3 of them in the status bar but nothing for the other 3

What have i done wrong?

hi Chiquitita,

Remotely Queued and purple means your in line, waiting your turn for the files.  The other three I cant be sure about whats caused them not to work since there can be many reasons.
In your  transfers screen you will see the title similar to below

+ Title of the track here.mp3         10mins - 50              File Size

If you click that '+' button then you will also see the name of the person that you are waiting for the file from.  If it fails now with that + clicked you will be able to see the message stating why the file failed.

Do that and let us know.

The other thought that comes to mind as possible is fakes files.  These almost always fail and so make sure your have the latest patch installed from here www.winmxgroup.com/

When you want to download, you also see the status of the person you are downloading from... I mean how many slots he has free...
Select the ones preferably with open slots or those with the least number of people in queue

For the purple ones, you can right click then and click on enter remote queue.
but I wouldn't recommend this as this means you'll ahve to wait for a long time (sometimes even days) for your download to start. Better get another source or start anothe file.

Another note: Do ensure that you have atleast 100 files shared. Otherwise people use programs that will automaticially remove you and prevent you from downloading from them. (Usually most people set it between 10-50 but 100 is on the safe side :)  )

Sorry I didnt understand that at all lol

Most of my files are showing in red and not doing anything at all, so does that mean the files are gone?

Reinstall winmx from there.

One question:
Do all your downloads brcome red or do only some? (If possible estimate in terms of %)
Also how many search results do you get when you search for things that you want?
(The number of results is given at the bottom of the search window)
