Hi,

I have not been able to share files with others on winmx for weeks. I've checked my settings and there is nothing to indicate that I can't share. Also, I could share and suddenly it changed. Now people think I'm a knob as I am getting banned from servers and nasty messages also. Anyway know what the issue could be?

what do you mean by can't share? uploads time out?

if so, do you have a NAT router that you previously forwarded the ports in? your computers internal IP Address may have changed which means going and doing the port forwarding again

Delete winmx and reinstall. Perhaps your library.dat got corrupted.
A word of caution:
Don't try to connect to too many servers at once. Most have timelimits within with you have to upload to them the minimum number of files. So if you connect to many of then, you will sometimes end up not uploading to them within the timelimit and hence you get banned.

Check if you have forwarded your ports properly or not and check if you have allowed winmx in any firewalls that you might have (espicially the windows firewall. Double Check if it is off if you have someother firewall)

Hi,

Sorry I never reposted a reply earlier. Thanks to those who responded to my request for help. Reinstalling winmx was what ended up helping. Thanks again.
