A simple library question

This is just a simple question about the files I have in my library.  I know that when the files are marked with a red cross, they aren't being shared.  Can someone please tell me the difference between the bright green tick and the dim green tick?

dim green= sharing because it's the default setting for the folder
bright green= sharing no matter what the default for the folder is

same goes for the red cross: dim=default, bright=not shared no matter what the defautl is
