well i found this COOL add on for firefox that lets you dl videos from my space and youtube
"Download videos from Youtube, Google, Metacafe, iFilm, Dailymotion, Pornotube... and other 60+ video sites ! And all embedded objects on a webpage (movies, mp3s, flash, quicktime, etc"

I hope you mean in theory "allows such actions" Cerebral, as you know we dont support the unauthorised duplication of allegedly copyrighted media, especially as there is better stuff on the net for free or having funding to the artist directly, the time of the middleman is shortening fast.

but those services are only meant to host videos that are allowed to be distributed online (permission from the copyright holder)

Watching and distributing are not the same thing and I believe under a deal worked out between the media companies and youtube etc a royalty payment is made per viewing by youtube of alleged copyright content, anyone making an unauthorised duplication would be accused of effectively breaching that agreement as it would no longer be possible to compensate the owner of the work, hey I should get Carys job

Folks will do as they wish I,m sure and thats the way it should be, we are after all, all adults and aware of our rights I hope, I merely wished to avoid a claim any time in the future of having a policy of aiding any activity deemed illegal in some countries using tools they would claim are designed to aid such activity, what I believe is the reality does not feature into this, I merely wish folks to be aware of what a possible claim could be.
