Hi All, As you probably know, windows vista will soon be released. Will we be able to use WinMX on vista?

I presume you'll soon find out. But I think there have been some issues of winmx with vista.

Hi Skylark,
there has been a few posts here from people that have had problems with vista, i posted as well doe to a friend that tried it, i don't know how he got on with downloads and searches, but i know he was in my room and there was an auto kick by my fxs for an illegal name change when he had not changed it, vista was loosing the last 5 digits (user id) off of his name and this was seen as an illegal rename. we tested this adding more numbers so he had his name with the normal 3 digits then the following 5 digits, then another 5 digits (user id) and when the illegal rename happened it took the user id & the other 5 digits off that we thought would replace the user id but it didn't, they went too and he was kicked again, each time he tried he was there between 2-10 mins, i did post asking had anyone else had this and was advised to go back to the xp edition, so he did.

I have just installed Vista and am pleased to report no problems with winmx. I just installed it and windows firewall configured it automaticaly

Re My Last Post: MX still working well with Vista, however One minor thing (hardly seems worth mentioning). Yesterday I received an error message "WinMX has caused an error and must now close" (this happens sometimes on XP so I wasn't too concerned). Vista then went on to ask me if I would like it to try and rectify this Fault? I of course clicked yes and after a few seconds it came back with "WinMX was built by Vlad44, There is a newer version available would you like to install this version". Naturally i clicked yes out of curiosity and it took me to Vladd's site which has a pay version of WinMX 2007.
Just a warning to All BEWARE !!!!!!!

we are aware of vladd using the scam money to get microsoft to help him scam more users

I have recieved that vladd message also 2 times and the first time I clicked on it ,but today I just ignored it and shut the window. Can
someone tell me what it is , also today I saw a song I was trying to download that said " sharing violation" ,umm what exactly does that
mean? Does it mean trouble for people who try and download it and all I did was search for a song and got that.Could someone explain
these things to me please?

the best way would be getting microsoft to change/remove it...

but i don't think it should keep coming up anyway, after the first couple of times it stopped coming up again for me
