Hi!! I've been using WinMX for years. I search the song, click on it and wait for it to download. And I share my collection with others as well. That's as far as my WinMX knowledge goes. For the first time ever today, I received a message from a user asking if they could get a specific song from my collection. I don't know why they are personally asking....maybe having trouble getting song from me? Any thoughts from anyone would be great. I didn't know how to answer because I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. Thanks for your help!!

Hi Lauren,

Personally im usually glad to hear from those folks in my que or ones im queued for.. to talk and remind me that we are all just regular folks out there looking for entertainment to get through life daily.. so dont be alarmed. Its likely they are just being polite.

Its real easy to tell you how to respond.. just talk to them.. alot like your talkin to us here now. You see the message on the hotlist (envelope flashing at you) and you click recieve.. then once you've read it you simply click reply and type out your answer. Its nice to put a human touch, and I have to say as I always have.. the WinMX community is the best ever.

They were prolly some where down in your que.. waiting.. and just seein if sending a message to see if you would mind starting them sooner. I get these alot and dont mind usually, I keep my slots down enough to be able to add a upload for a polite asker.

If you do have space or bandwidth enough to help them out, just right click thier user name in your queue list, and choose start transers..
Sorry if Im over explainin things here but you have used MX for a while others may come across this message and get help here too..

To me this gets into the sharing or trading side of WinMX. I don't get much now, but originally we got lots of kids games. If I was in someones q at say 20, I would send them a message, asking if I had something they liked and we could trade and they start me, I start them etc. From messages like that we got told to go to a chat room, something we had only tried once or twice and did not plan on ever doing again. We found a nice chat room and we are still there lol.

I think this is the best part of WinMX. You can talk to people, trade games and things with them. With kids games we used to discuss which were most popular, best for certain ages etc.

Other times we just upload to total strangers, that is the sharing side of it.

A few weeks ago, I dl several files from another user and they all came in immediately. Now, this person has queued for several of my files so I just automatically start them up. I stopped using MX for a few weeks because I had gotten a few nastygrams and began to tire of it, but I'm happy to say I'm back in the loop!

welcome back KittyBass,
glad to see you are with us once again, it isnt very nice getting abusive pm's or in my case an abusive person in my room because he was using the 0-0 available hack and i ignored him, so he come in to abuse me, all it got him was dumped into the moat for the crocodiles to eat,
unlike some, i don't tell people to come to my room or you don't get a start, we r friendly, except to leeches,
i run a family room and protect the youngsters that come in as its my duty to keep out young people safe.

oh and Me_Here is one of the most helpful & sensible people on winmx, much respect to you.
