well, i removed the two extra, followed your instructions, and now i again have three entries, one that lists the program, one that lists the tcp port and one that lists the udp port. guess that's just the way mine works.
i tried the dnsalias test site and it shows my tcp port closed... it was working a couple of months ago. not sure what has changed...

Do you have a router or DSL modem that you had to confiure Fish, or maybe other protective software on the PC?  If you do can you tell us the names, models, and versions?

Ok Fish,

The first thing I would do is to make sure nothing has changed your network settings on the PC, make sure the static IP you had set is still intact.
If it is intact .. then go to your motorola and remake the rules there for new ports.. maybe say  1720 and 3339  These will need changed in the XP firewall as you did above.  You can highlight and choose Edit this time i believe and make those changes for the ports.

You will also need to change them in WinMX Settings > Incoming TCP and In/Out UDP.  Then restart everything and see how that goes.

well, changing the ports worked (thank you) but i really wish i understood why ports that were working before just stopped. i didn't change anything... was it my isp (the boogers!)

anyway, i appreciate the assistance...

Normally when we see this its usually down to the router/modems reassigning a new IP, but since you had a static set up I'm not really sure what caused it.  I dont think its the ISP simply because most ISPs that are throttling or blocking WinMX traffic are doing so with software that sees the packets sent rather then the ports being used.

In any case lets just cross our fingers and hope it stays working now.. lol
