I can't playback AVI video files and I'm wondering why? Windows Media Player states( one or more codecs are required to play this video.) According to the search under the File Type Buttons avi is covered?

If you still want to play it only on windows media player (trust me, vlc is a million times faster and better, you can even preview incomplete video files with it, which will cause problems if you attempt with windows mediaplayer), you can get the k lite codec pack and install codecs from there

Search for "klite codecpack" in google.
