you can try the following things to start with:
first, scan for viruses & spyware
second, scan your system files for problems:
To do a scan of your XP system files go to:
Start > Programs > Accessories > Command/Msdos prompt, and type sfc/ scannow
If there are damaged files it may require you to have your operating system disk handy to make the repairs.
if that reveals nothing, or repairs it does don't help:
run windows update to bring your copy up to date (if you havn't already done so)
if the situation is still unresolved, delete the entire winmx program folder, then download & install fresh from
www.winmxgroup.comif that still fails try the solution for vista users with this problem located
here it shouldn't be needed on XP, but may help.
