One of the best WinMX dedicated sites and I just registered?

Gah, have I been living under a rock?

(Don't answer that.)

Nice to have you join up Kilo  8)

Glad you liked the site, I would like to wish you good luck from us all here and happy thanx to you, for taking the helm at MxControl  :D
I suspect you feel like charlie in the chocolate factory story  :P

Thank you very much :D

If I'm Charlie in the Chocolate Factory, then there's a lot of bitter chocolate ;-)

Taking the helm wasn't really a choice. But, you got to do what you got to do. I expect the project isn't dying anytime soon, with the dedicated members we have and as long as people use the progs and show interest we aren't going away.

I'll pop by here a lot more often, and keep up the great work yourself ;)

Well, for starters, Bender is irreplacable ;-)

Best we can do is fill the void as well as we can. For far noone else is stepping up, so don't worry about it :P

I was thinking of taking on one of Bender's projects that he no longer has the time for, maybe RoboMX, not sure, and since I'm posting on Linux right now, I was wondering, if it would be possible to port all the features RoboMX has to other operating systems (like using a decent GTK so it's a "write once" thing).

Ah well, hope to see you around Kilo and best of luck with roboServ.

Heh, I was looking at the source for RoboMX yesterday... it's easy to get lost in all that code

As for the possibility of porting RoboMX to other platforms, I was going to say yes, but I realized that all of Bender's programs are heavily MFC flavoured... meaning... well, yes a port is possible, but not without a near complete rewrite. If you use any MFC in the program, it would defeat the purpose of a port.

there is a reasonably simple way to port it, just make a few small changes to make it work a little better with wine, because trying to get a heavily MFC orientated program to run as a native linux program is as good as a pointless task

the default has been set to show quick reply and to use basic mode, just makes it look neater, change it in your profile if you want
