When i download files it still says __INCOMPLETE___
how can i fix this.

This seems to be a common issue with vista, which KM answered as follows

have you checked the security settings on your incoming files directory? make sure you have full access - if that still doesn't fix it try right clicking the winmx shortcut and selecting run as administrator when you run it (if that works, then you can right click the shortcut and go to properties and under compatibility there is a tick box to make it always run as administrator)

offhand i don't i'm not a vista user.. rename them manually?

You misunderstood me...

Log on as administrator user and then try to run winmx

Give the folder administrator access as well

Try this : try to run winmx under win98 compatibility and see if that helps.

I can not download a song.  I have gone to  the web site and downloaded WinMx now.  It just keeps telling me "waiting network reply and then goes red and does nothing.

I ahve gone to the website that you told me to go to  and I downloaded the Winmx now.  But win I try to download the songs it tell me it is waiting for network reply.    What am I doing wrong.  I did use this website and then my computer crashed and I had to get a new one.  I was not able to transfer all the songs from the old computer to the new one.  And when I reinstalled Winmx it will not work with the new computer.  Will you please email me at cbcheno@yahoo.com and tell me what I need to do to get this problem fixed so that I can use your service.

usually installing from that website (www.winmxgroup.com) is all that's needed, i notice you said you have a *new* computer, & i'm guessing that if really new it will have come with vista pre-loaded, in which case you will also need to follow the vista users link on that page.
if you still have no joy, don't worry that winmx isn't connected, just click chat, dismiss the warning & paste

next to the filter button & hit join at the other end of that field, which will bring you to our chatroom where we can talk with you (if nobody is around either wait or try different times we all go there in spare time)
if your winmx keeps disconnecting & dropping you from rooms, try doing the above after hitting disconnect (red light on networks page) you should still arrive in the room, & while pm won't work (or downloads) you can still talk to us.

(KM when do we gen an installer? or that one in main installer since it doesn't break anything?)

cbcheno, did you get winmx from winmxgroup.com? If not, get that first.
