Connection Problems
« on: May 21, 2007, 02:26:49 pm »
Hi all,

When I tried setting up WinMX. I was prompt:

WinMX is unable to recieve incoming TCP connections from the internet. Etc, etc, etc.

I tried connecting it, but was unsuccessful. I turned off my firewall and anti virus but none works.
I am using a wireless connection on a router.

Please help.

Thanks,

Daniel

go to settings & check under Internet connection that Outgong TCp is set to connect directly (no proxy), & set incoming TCP & IN/OUT UDP both to unable, also check any installed firewalls (including the windows one), are either off or set to allow winmx, if you've changed winmx version at all, remove any firewall rules you set previously, so your firewall asks again if it should be allowed...obviously, if turning firewall off helps, then ask about configuring it...

they were telling the truth, you aren't breaking any part of the contract

however tiscali don't care and they block all p2p during peak time regardless - and no, they aren't allowed to do that but they do anyone hoping that you won't sue them for breach of contract and/or theft (charging for services not provided)
