if your using winmx and have a monthly capacity allowance you are soon gonna run out unless you have quite a reasonable allowance as winmx alone without d/loads eats it up..... anyone wishing to download films albums etc would be much better off getting unlimited b/band (well thats what they advertise it as ) as going over your monthly allowance can result in a nasty sting in the tail.....
b/band companys are only to happy to keep letting you have more bandwidth when you are paying by the mile & never seem to throttle or block ( but unlimited they have fair usage policy which they throttle and block on p2p etc)
i wonder why as it seems there is all the capacity you want when you are paying a over inflated price for it, perhaps they should cut the bull and call it unlimited at our own descression as we dont have the capacity for truly unlimited broadband such as places like france, japan, china etc.
i have a theory that the 1st b/band suplier in the uk to give truly unlimited b/band ( meaning no throttling or blocking) for a reasonable price will become the most sucessfull ever within 3 years...... but i doubt this will come into fruition in the near future as fair usage ( another word for keping our profits as high as possible) always comes into play
funny old world when you go into a all you can eat resteraunt for xxx pounds really does mean that or they can be prosecuted by trading standards yet unlimited means depending on how much capacity we have and how cheap we bought it at.
seems the restaurant has to bear the cost of loss leaders but service providers live by a diffrent rule book
That said unlimited b/band is the lesser of two evils if you are a regular p2p user/d/loader
