Connection issue ( i can actually connect)

Sorry for the misleading title, but i can actually connect to the server, the problem is i cant search for anything, neither does the chatroom.  Why is that?  Thanks

Check if your ports are forwarded alright in the above link.
If not, then gp to www.portforward.com and see your router model there.
Forward according to the tutorial given there for winmx
It is possible that if youi have a modem only, the modem might have an inbuilt router...
Check if the model is listed at portforward. if it is, then the modem also has a router

 I can not connect.I just put winmx on my new computer and can't connect. it keeps flashing.I have had winmx on my old computer with no problems.I have windows vista and have put on my firewall to allow winmx but it still does not connect..

Hi Cbrad07,

Make sure that you initially downloaded your WinMX from www.winmxgroup.com  and you'll see a note there for Vista users as well.  Once you're sure you've installed the correct patched one from the site go back and get the Vista installer.. Im not entirely sure whether the Vista one will install if you havent already installed the original WinMX Group 3.0 Patch first so do it first.

If your still not able to connect.. remove WinMX from your firewall rules, restart it.. and then let it ask for persmission again.

i can connect between 12 midnight till 12mid day then no connection till after midnight again any help will be much appreciated

Hi Valkerie, i took the libery of finding out who your ISP is, only to discover you are with the dreaded Tiscali.

Unfortuneatly Tiscali limit P2P traffic at certain times of the day, and your only option to rectify this would be to change ISP
