i have downloaded winmx gone through settings, and internet firwall enabled winmx and file sharing and network tcp connections and now i can connect as a primary connection but its constantly seeking, ive been on this winmxworld all day reading other ppls topics and was trying to set up a static ip address but got all the way through and i got stuck right at the end with dns server. i would really appreciate if someone could give me some feedback as i am exhausted with ideas and feel im going in circles. my sister has this and it works fine on hers? n she cant even help. i have a bt voyager 220v adsl voice router if this helps. i am paying for this and dont even have it my sister dosent pay n hers works please please help and give me some advice as i just want to start downloading n chatting on winmx ta

Have you tried changing the ports that winmx used maybe your isp is port shaping. Where did you get winmx from what patch are you using whats your computer setup software and hardware what routers are you using if any. All this information could help us to help you.

Hi Joe,

I agree with Zero .. a bit more info would be helpful... like what firewalls and protective software (antivirus) you have installed as some give WinMX fits. You mentioned paying.. DO NOT EVER pay for WinMX.. its a scam.

Here is a guide for XP users and setting up static.. it has some recommendations for the DNS servers and explains how to get them if your unsure.

it's not us that have the trouble it the host server gone off line somereason going to have to wait ansd see if they come back on line
