It won't get past the "trying to connect" screne, stays in the YELLOW mode...this changed last Friday. Until then I didn't have any problems.

The addys are

To get into these click chat in winmx. Than copy and paste one of these addys into it and click join.

Yep, there is a new patch released, so for anyone still having connection issues. Please download the new patch.

The new patch can be located at: https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/connection.html

Or can be downloaded from here:

Setup for 95/98/ME
Setup for NT/2000
Setup for XP/Vista

Thanks for keeping WinMX alive!

Hi. I've installed the patches and have read through the materials here, and I still can't see anyone on the network. I can connect, I have a green light, I get the 'Welcome Back from WinMXWorld!!!' message, however I can't go to chat room for help. I can't change anything in the black bar address window to get to the help chat room. The 'Welcome Back...' message is there and can't be changed. It seems like I'm connected, but when I do a search for 'beatles' - no results come back. I'm using a Windows 2000 machine.

Any more ideas?

Ok, i'm not sure what your problem is. But i suggest a fresh install of winmx.

The link for the multiversion of winmx is: https://www.winmxworld.com/files/install-3.0-multiver.exe

Download that and tick the version you wish to install. Then if you cant connect, install the patch from: https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/connection.html

Or download from here (please make sure you download the correct patch for your windows version):

Setup for 95/98/ME
Setup for NT/2000
Setup for XP/Vista

If then, your still getting the same problems as before then let us know.

Installed the multiversion from your link above, restarted WinMX and connected with other users. Thanks man. I don't know what it was, but it's working again now... and I can now get into the help chat room as well. Thanks for all your hard work and dedication through this problem. I've always loved WinMX over the other choices. Please keep up the great work! Thanks.

Hi mee-too

Do you have firewalls running? If so please try this for me please.

Please un allow winmx in any firewalls and than allow it again. This will fix any problems with firewalls and winmx
