Just Heard On The News Today That Shortly In The
Land Down Under Night Club Patrons Will Be Charged
More Entry Fee So That The Owners Of The Clubs
Can Pay Their Royalty Bills To The Music Heirarchy.
Extra Charges per Person Will Range From 7 Cents
to 3 Dollars. They Must Be Really Getting Desperate Now !!

It does seem strange that this has never factored before in Australia as in most countries folks know a good portion of their entrance fee is going to the rights management organisations

I think in the past the royalties have been
in a grey area whereby Radio stations, clubs
and the like provided valuable advertising
for their product, but obviously their not
getting too many of our Dollars the normal
way so i guess they have gone on a different
tack.

Shops were I live Down Under have had a sticker on the door saying they have paid their money for music they play in the shop. Every so often people come out and check all the shops.

Hmm, I haven't heard anything about this. I know that places where music is sold (and sometimes played, I *think*) they carry an 'A P R A' logo

Thats the one. Music shops who play music pay for the right. I would think a music shop who plays music is giving the artist free advertising.
