What on earth is going on? Can't connect at all

MX was working perfectly until a few days ago the ''having problems? could try winmxworld.com'' message appeared in the space that usually says ''patch operational''.

I've been using mx since from 1999-2003 during which time i aquired over 15,ooo mp3's then came back in 2005 installed the mxpie patch and have had no problems at all until the above message appeared. Thats why i've joined this forum.

I'm aware of the childish conflict between yourselves and vlad44, as a file-sharer I couldn't care less who fixed winmx as without serious and consistent filesharers like me there would be no winmx. However as the problem started when your message appeared you haven't exactly endeared yourself to me. Please sort it out! NOW!

No worries! just been to the vladd44 website and installed the latest patch.... All connected and working again!

Well, if you cared to take a quick look around the forum, you would KNOW that there IS a fix.

Oh, and good luck using Vladd's patch. As you would know that the original MXPie team split and do NOT recommend using Vladd's controversial patch.

Virqie if, up until you began having problems you had the 'Patch Oprtational' notification in your update bar, you most certainly were not using the MXPie patch, that status notification originates from the WinMXGroup servers which have now unfortuneatley closed.
I would suggest that you install he following patch to ensure that you are protected from fakes/floods in future:

by now since your pie patched RIAA now have your ip and most likely your complete file sharing history so good luck when the seponia is issued sure hope you have a healthy bank account.........these are the facts that pie will never tell you..........
1  pie patch has zero blocking of the cartel peer guardian and vladds auto updater dont contain one single cartel flooder...........
2  thru pie patch the cartel are able to launch both udp and denial of service attacks against users and this network useing your bandwidth.........
3  flood this network with thousands possibly millions of fakes which you help to spread................

still think this is a childish conflict ?.........if so then your the one being childish not to mention arrogant.............
and just so you know winmx is a multi facet p2p network file sharers are no more important then room hosts , thousands of users dont share a single file there here purely for chat and others are like you here to share files..................
but there is a more important side to winmx and thats the folks that donate there time resources and even there own money to keep this network up and running, and despite pies best efforts to destroy it and yes thats there stated goal the destruction of winmx, if you like i have a statement from vladd and his cronies stateing that very fact im more then happy to post it..........the people that keep this network up and running and protect both the users and the network will and are more important then you will ever be...........you can leave and you wouldnt be missed but those that provide the caches the patches and the blocking software leave and winmx is dead in a heart beat..............
good luck on your maggot patch i give you a week before its broken and your winmx dead,thats if you dont get fed up with wading thru all the fakes in an attempt to find a real file as this is what happins to all who install pie ...........

Um, I saw that winmx wasn't connecting, went straight to winmxworld and found a patch was needed, installed it and am back on - within minutes.  No problems.  And I'm not very tech minded....  To all you who dedicate your time, efforts and, probably at times your own money, I say a big thank you.  Never would I dream of being so ungrateful or demanding of you, when I'm  sharing free music, knowing that you all do this for us.  Thank you, ppl of winmx - I appreciate you all.  Not only do you all put in such efforts, you are always there to help with answering our questions when we are having a problem......  I was gobsmacked to read of angry outbursts from others!!

This is possibly the most Mis-leading post Bug has ever made.

In this case, as the user indicated, the Pie patch was DLed from Vladd44.com, the Pie auto updater available from there is running the latest Winmxworld blocklist (thanks QS) to ensure we block flooders from the network. Users of this patch are well protected as well as able to automatically update cache lists as required.

The original Pie team is based at mxpie.com and vladd44.com, there is a section of Pie users that formed their own team based at mxpie.info, it is this patch that offers NO blocking at all, other than advising users to run PG2, which in my opinion they often simply dont bother to do. It is this rather hopefull approach to blocking that sees the flooders prosper and we should all be on the look out for the non-protected users and ensure they are converted, as i have done with several users in the last few days.

Bughunter, you really do now need to drop the tough guy 'we are superior' act now, and start acting in a resonable and reponsible manner, your rants are old news and rather tired. I suggest you focus on helping your team repair the damage caused by Winmxgroup rather hasty shut down. Myself and QS were sharp to get the real Pie Patch users running the latest blocking list to ensure  the network was as protected as could be in its time of need. Lets hope relations are maintained and blocking remains current for both Pie and WmW users, until a suitable OS community solution can be released that would be agreeable to all parties, and that i suspect will see the network go from strength to strength.

I would also appeal to ALL users of the pie.info patch or their new v3.5 patch, unless you are running specific Winmx IP blocking you are HELPING to flood the network, please upgrade to a more suitable patch NOW!
