I've been using Winmx version 3.53 for quite sometime now. All of a sudden it will not connect. Can anyone help me fix my Winmx please? I don't think I have changed anything and can't figure out why it stopped connecting. Please help? Thank you Paula

I've merged these two threads so I'd only have to answer once:

There have been some changes lately with the patches so it's necessary to use the latest one from here:

https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/connection.html

PLease donwload and install from that page and report back if you're still having problems afterwards - cheers! :walk:

Same problem - see 'Flashing yellow still works.......'.  Flashed all night, no connection.

3.53 always worked great, but should I do the Uninstall again (which BTW, worked great, no trace of WinMX anywhere after the Uninstall.  That in and of itself is truly outstanding) and try installing the newly patched 3.54 beta on WIN98FE?

After the uninstall, is there anything else that should be removed, like old Host files, etc.?

the uninstall should leave things pretty much as they ought to be..
given you're on 9x it may be worth you rebooting the pc after the install finishes to load up new settings & unload old ones.. stuff like hosts entries stay in memory till windows is restarted under 9x

i used to run 3.54 beta without issues. one fine day it stopped connecting and the yellow keeps blinkin' but doesn't turn to green at all. tried uninstalling and reinstalling.same difference. any suggestions? even tried to go from primary to secondary connections making the necessary dns and tcp changes dint work.  could have these  wrong though. earlier i was on primary connection using a dsl modem. still using dsl but primary won't connect.
