Auto-searching
« on: June 28, 2007, 09:39:05 pm »
Hi Guys,

I have had a browse and hope this hasn't been asked before or that it's a really dumb question.

If I have say 100 incomplete or 0byte files in my download queue, as I remember winmx should autosearch these (I think 5 at a time) in a loop.

However recently this function does not seem to be working, I highlight them all, it searches the first 5 almost always finds nothing and then stops, it doesn't search the 6th, 7th, 8th etc.

Anyone any clues?

Thanks
Steve

Also I am currently on my 5th attempt to post this message due to the letters validation thing. The letters I'm typing are right! I've even tried listening to them. Was Weird, getting annoying now!

Take a look in settings and select search, set auto find sources to every 10 minutes and auto enter queue to 100.
Go back to your transfer queue highlight all incoming and do the same with the buttons above the queue

hope this helps

Also sorry Steve about the validation thing.. its only with guest posts and has saved us tons of times with bots posting links to various.. um.. how shall i say.. NOT WinMX related sites?  ...

Hope its not a bother next time you post or maybe you'll consider joining the site as members are not required to do such.

Hi Bilburn

This depends where your trying to shift them too really.

If your moving them to a different folder you can open the folder and
1. If they are all incompletes:  Click on Edit (top left of screen) choose Select All, then choose Copy and go to the new folder and right click inside and select Paste/
2. If some are other types:  Right click in side the folder and choose Arrange by Name.  Then while holding the SHIFT key down click the top file you want to move, scroll down to the bottom file listed you want to move, and click it (keeping the shitft key held in) then this will highglight them all.  Now right click them and choose copy.  Move to new folder.

You can also use those methods to delete.

If your needing to format and dont want to loose them or needing to remove them from the PC some how, just burn them to a Disk as Data.  Its best to have them in a subfolder when burning to insure they stay intact.

Hope this helps.. if not post back

note.. if you burn incompletes to cd while formatting & then copy back either use copy/xcopy from dos when putting them back, or remember to remove the read only attribute from the restored copies
