Program "Trunk" is possibly SPY, Malware, Virus.

Since this issue relates to downloading and can affect people who have downloading problems of "file mismatched" and who may use the program called "Trunk", I decided to post this message here, again!  I posted in the "Third Party" forum but somehow the contents of the post disappeared!

I was having problem of the "file mismatched" problem and decided to use the program, "Trunk", which is on this website and at the address below to resolve this problem.  However, at the time of the execution of the application, this "Trunk" attempted to make Outgoing connection and was caught and stopped by my firewall.  This is a malicious behavior.  Users who have "file mismatched" problems and decide to use this program to cut the defected data at the end of the file must beware of this questionable program!

I'm not aware of any malware in the archive
There are any number of programs (not just there), however, that check for updated virsions on startup, this is not malicious behaviour

I have used this program many times and decided to grab the  one from the archive to test since my format a few weeks ago, I have to trim a few files myself.  Just to make sure things are as they should be for you ..

The program does indeed try to contact web.tiscali.it/ringlord  and if you look at the program while its open you will see that is the contact info for the makers.  Its a free program but like many older programs used with WinMX the site and support no longer exist.  There is no need to allow it to try to contact home, home is gone now.

Its perfectly safe to use and enjoy and works great when you need to trim more then a few 10's of K off of a file.
