Hi Mad4music,

If you right click the users name while they are listed in your queue then you will see the choice 'Start Trasnfer'..

The "start transfer" feature seems to have vanished from v3.54 beta 4.  How can I get it back?

If your talking about the uploads its still there I assure you.. not one release of WinMX has come without it since well.. maybe  all not sure but since v3.31 for sure.. The only way your going to get a 'Start Transfer' option in the downloads section is when the files is locally queued.  If you dont have any files Locatlly queued you wont see that as a right click option.

As I recall, in "start transfer" for downloads, text was brown and there was an indication that I was queued locally...  Evidently, my downloads haven't queued into any local files for a while, because I haven't seen the brown text with its "start transfer" option.  "Start transfer" is not a R-click option on my upload screen.  I can access an "Enqueue" feature on the upload & download screens, which doesn't seem to have anything to do with starting transfers to other users.  That said, how do I start uploads to other users?

Must potential uploads be sitting in a queue before the "start transfer" option is available?  After mutual communication via "send message", some still can't upload files.  They report having settings adjusted correctly to upload/download w/o timing out, ports open, etc.  In addition, I am unable to ping these users.  Is it their settings or mine?

You cant start transfer for d/loads that option is only open to the person whose queue you are in to use for your benifit the same as you can do for them in uploads
i think where you have your problem is in your queuing set up
go to settings >>>>> queuing  option and adjust your maximum total downloads to a higher figure (20 should do it) also adjust max downloads per user number up as well this should achieve what you are looking for
also whilst you have this box open you can adjust your max uploads and uploads per user (dependant on bandwidth you have to spare) i generaly have mine at 4 and 6 max uploads and per user set to 2 or 3. i also start some manualy as well dependant on how civil people are when asking for a start or to trade

The twarted uploads (& somex downloads) resulting in "connection refused" have been occurring for about 2 months.  My bandwidth doesn't appear to be a problem and I have had total downloads set at 10 with additional queuing values set at 6 & 6 from the get-go.  In attempting to remedy this upload delimma, I reinstalled over the weekend, changing the additional queue values to 6 & 3.  As suggested, I now just increased max downloads from 10 to 20, but doubt if the setting for # of total downloads is the culprit.  What do you think?

WinMX is about sharing; and heck, I aim to share.
