New Patch a bit sluggish.

About the time WinMx crashed because the patch was yanked my computer died and I'm back online with abnother computer, a Compac Presario running XP Home with Windows Firewall. I was glad to get the new patch but it takes several moments for selections to actuate. If I select search it takes a while for the search screen to come up. The problem is the same as with my other computer. Sometimes using windows explorer with WinMx open caused it. I have to close Windows Explorer from Task Manager and then start it again as a new task.

Primary or secondary?

The first thing I would suggest here is to try using secondary and see if this also has the same effect, for most users this patch will actully work faster and take less resources.  Try secondary and see if this improves things much.
