Can't make a primary connection

Around the time WinMx went down at the beginning of the month, I went to my pc the next morning, and it made me re-install WinMx.  In doing so, I lost all my settings.  I was told to delete all files with WinMx, and re-install.  I did that, and now I can't establish  a primary connection.  I made sure my U & T in WinMx matched what on my router, but I still can't make a primary connection.  Can someone help me.

I running Windows XP SP2
I have a NetGear FVS318
Running WinMx vr. 3.53

delete any access rules in your firewall relateing to winmx , then restart winmx and let the firewall readd winmx, xp sp2 windows firewall will be active if you havent disabled it.....reason being due to a complicated process in md5 encrypted checksums which is how f/walls verify proggies accessing the net , im picking since you did a reinstall the firewall is seeing a different md5 checksum so is blocking winmx...... failing that check that all internal ips from your puter to router etc all match up.....but im hopeing its just the f/wall, make things easy then ...........
