WinMX Firewalled?
« on: October 17, 2007, 04:11:33 am »
Was messing around tonight trying to get winmx working again with my BEFW11S4 Linksys router. I used ports 135 TCP and 445 UDP, tried connecting and then got a window that popped up saying WinMX is now firewalled. As anyone ever come across this before?

Hi Lakehavasu

What firewalls are you running? You will need to allow winmx through these.

I have none running as far as I know. Windows firewall is turned off. But it sure acts if winmx is firewalled cause I can't get though my router. Unplugging my router and going from my modem to my computer winmx works great. Is there a way to tell what firewalls are running on a computer?

Hi Your XP firewall is still running in the back ground.

Please go to this tutorial https://www.winmxworld.com/tutorials/firewalls-xp.html and allow winmx through it.

Please post back and let me know how you get on.

I just tried unplugging my router and just going with my modem only. Works great that way. So now I know my problem is with my router.
