I regularly and consistently have my max u/l running and they seeem to stay on until they are complete. My d/l though seem to stay on for a few seconds and then drop out. Any tips?

Try visiting a chatroom (WinMxWorld.com_E3D7EFD50D3D << very good choice) where you can try with someone who has a known good setup & known good files, to test the function, unless these are new downloads since upgrading to 3.0 patch the likeliest cause would be fake (flooded) files, the good news is, if so the fix is as simple as upgrading to the 3.0 patch & removing your incompletes.

Are some bits actually downloaded, or do they time out immediately with 0 bits downloaded or very little downloaded?

A few bits d/l and then they drop out. I can keep retrying and they will keep connecting and then dropping out after a few secs

What patch & what version are you using? A visit to the help room in my post above might be your best bet, as we can discuss the problem and help on the spot.

Delete all the downloads you have and try again. It must be fake files that you were trying to download.

All meaning the ones which haven't proceeded above 10kb
