I couldnt believe this till I read it, the recording artists own trade association has announced more record profits, so who are the ripped off artists that the Cartel keep bleating about.

Artists earning their money in the corporate music industry are in dire straits because of file sharing, claim the members of the Big Four record label cartel.

But it’s now a given that when the labels say black, think white and to confirm that, the BMI, Big Music’s US performing rights organization representing more than 300,000 songwriters, composers and publishers, is reporting in excess of $728 million for fiscal 2004-2005, an increase of more than 8.3% over the previous year.

This marks the first time that any copyright organization in the world has crossed the threshold of $700 million in revenues in performing rights collections, brags Del Bryant, president and ceo.

"The increase in our revenues and royalty distribution for the 15th year in a row shows the overall health of our business and our commitment to seek new areas of income and to decrease operational expenses," he said.

This once again proves that the greedy recording industry  parasites are poor liars, it was obvious to anyone who is literate that this report would make news  :roll:

Barely a week has gone by without reports of Hollywood's great box office slump of 2005. So our thanks go to screenwriter John August for pointing out that on closer examination, the 'slump' is as elusive as missing Weapons of Mass Destruction.

"Every Monday brought new speculation about just what was causing the downturn, and What It Really Meant. Could the problem be the poor state of movie theaters, the growth of DVD, the price of gasoline?" observes John.
"What makes this self-flagellation so annoying and unwarranted is that the 'box office slump' is basically a myth," he points out.

In fact 2005's box office returns mirror 2004's very closely, and box office receipts are down just six per cent this year. One more blockbuster would have turned the slump into a boom.

"Is there really an industry crisis if just one movie would eliminate it?" asks John.
Of course not. But a better question is why do so many people want you to engender this panic?
Because it suits them, that's why.

The Cartels are known for their persistance in half truths and their battle against new technologies, after all it is they who want us all to live in the technological luddite utopia their business was set up to market to.
