Help - incoming connections timed out

I started using PeerGuardian2 yesterday, the only problem I had is that when I used it in conjunction with WinMX anybody trying to get music from me had their connection time out. For me it acted just fine, but it didn't allow anybody to access my computer - even with permission. Anybody got any ideas ?[

Is this for all incoming connections or just a few of them?
You can try to change the WinMX TCP port, and see if that helps, if not, make sure no other firewall or router could be causing the problem.

If that won't solve the problem, go to a chatroom and ask if someone can download from you. See if their IP shows up in the PeerGuardian block list.
If it does, well, they've done a mistake :? . If not, then there's probably something else blocking it  :shock:

Hi Tom, its possible to quickly test if the Peer Guardian is the cause of any problems by simply clicking on the icon in the sytem tray and selecting disabled for a few minutes this will show you if its doing the damage.  :)

Some not so good Internet Service Providers do this sort of trick to their customers, allowing downloads but not uploads, if its not the Peer Guardian can you give the name of your ISP here please  :)

Tried that, it didn't matter at all. Frustrated I uninstalled the wee beastie and everything seems to be fine now. I think there was a compatability issue between my firewall (McAfee) and PG2. Now I want to look for a fire wall that is PG2 friendly. Any suggestions ?

Well most folks I know use Sygate, its free and easy to operate and works perfectly  :)
