It seems after numerous complaints Comcast is now under investigation for virtually blocking certain p2p traffic against FCC guidlines.

"Comcast does not, has not, and will not block any Web sites or online applications, including peer-to-peer services," David Cohen, a Comcast executive vice president, said in a statement on Wednesday.
Comcast said it used bandwidth management technology on its network that can slow delivery of files, but that it would not block them outright.
"We believe our practices are in accordance with the FCC's policy statement on the Internet, where the Commission clearly recognized that reasonable network management is necessary for the good of all customers," Cohen said.
Because Comcast is the second-largest high-speed Internet provider in the United States, with 11 million customers, any move by the company to favor or block certain types of content moving over its network would be viewed as flouting Net neutrality.
When a big company like this takes your money for a service and then denies you the use of the service citing their own lack of capacity as an excuse, you have to wonder if
you did the same thing would you be facing fraudulant selling lawsuits ?
Companies that sell acess to the internet are fully aware of the expanding nature of consumer requirements and in fact look at using that same capacity to provide services of their own, the real problem lies in ensuring they do so in a fair and equitable manner.
Its a well worn out mantra they wheel out regarding p2p use taking up all the bandwidth but the facts are that soon this is likely to be replaced by their own offered services using the very same protocols, and they can hardly wish competition, spot the scapegoat folks , thats right P2P, the industry cash cow.
