The days are ticking away now folks for the police in Sweden to either put up a charge or lose face in public for taking part in a politically sponsored raid on the Pirate Bay web servers, removing other numerous servers they where interested in while they where at it.
http://www.p2pnet.net/story/14800It’s the government of Sweden, Time Warner, Viacom, Fox, Sony, NBC Universal and Disney —- aka Hollywood —- and Warner Music, EMI, Vivendi Universal and Sony BMG, the members of the Big 4 organised music gang, versus a handful of young guys running a search site.
Because the entertainment cartels have finally coerced Sweden into officially charging the people running The Pirate Bay.
“It’s not merely a search engine,” public prosecutor Hakan Roswall states.
Roswall admitsit could take, “more than convictions in Sweden to stop Pirate Bay, says the story, “Because the infrastructure is scattered among several places around the world… no separate country will be able to stop the site,” he said.
“But he believes advertisers could have second thoughts about using Pirate Bay if a guilty verdict is handed down, it adds.
The charges will be lodged on January 31.
Well we can only wait folks and see what political moves are going on behind the scenes, as at this current time they have committed no criminal acts on the Swedish statute books and the only ones so far mentioned may relate to suspected tax evasion although with the police seizing the servers and costing the bay crew a large slice of money I can see that may be a tasty tax black-hole in the wings waiting to be exploited on paper.
