A blow in our favour for a change, now if for some reason i ever recive a letter from the scum i have a leg to stand on when i contact my isp as they have no right to hand it out in the first place. As everyone knows their seems to be some sort of missue between the two types of Civil and Criminal Law when the these bastards try it on with you,

First time ive been happy to be part of the EU   :P.

Here is another take on the same issue Tiny.

The European Court of Justice noted that the need to protect the confidentiality of personal data outweighed the need to enforce copyright in civil cases.

"Member States must ensure the confidentiality of communications by means of a public communications network and publicly available electronic communications services, and of the related traffic data, and must inter alia prohibit, in principle, the storage of that data by persons other than users, without the consent of the users concerned," according to the ruling.

There are some exceptions to that rule, notes the court, but a civil copyright case is not one of them.

In effect this decision also ensures companies not registered with the national data protection authorities are likely to face stiff criminal penalties for breaking the law even gathering IP based information.
Its about time the cartel  where made to clean up their corrupt fake lawsuit practices that are based soley it seems on illegal data harvesting, who will be the first to sue these lemons ?
