Hi all,

I used to use winmx frequently before the big crash a number of years ago. I want to come back to using it but have big problems everytime I have tried, normally with the port forwarding routine. I am running win xp, with a talktalkbroadband modem model smartax MT882, (the instructions before always failed because the very last page on certain tutorials never matched my modem, bit about creating ports), I run Norton version 10.0.1.13 and dont have any win mx installed as yet.

So can you help so I can install correctly with links etc.

Hi Chickenworld

Welcome back to winmx.

Here is the link for winmx https://patch.winmxconex.com/

Download and install the tab called 'Install for WInMX v3.54 Patched'

Make sure it is allowed through nortons and any other firewalls you have on your pc.

To forward the ports on your router go to http://portforward.com/ and follow the instructions to winmx port forwarding.

This one should take you directly to the correct instructions however if this one is still different to what your actually seeing maybe you could post some screen shots of the last bits you do see and we can guide you from that.

I am also a returnie.... I" loved winmx and miss it. anyway, i have vista and have no idea where to even start now........... i miss my music
