In reading George Orwells book "1984" readers are treated to the hyperthetical governments actions in rewritng and editing history to suits its purposes on a grand scale, it seems The IFPI are doing a similar trick in the real world.

On that date, the Wikipedia page was edited by someone with IP address 195.40.39.2 who deleted all information about the IFPI having a history at all. That is how it’s remained on Wikipedia’s IFPI page until now.
The person who deleted the information about IFPI’s founding did it from IFPI’s headquarters in London. The IP address points there.
Why is the IFPI so scared of its own history that it tries to keep it a secret that 2008 is its 75th anniversary?
Whilst not becoming greatly interested in how the IFPI came into being there is a thread of relevance to their activities of late as they often cite laws and treaties in their press pronouncements, its then a valid activity to delve into deals or contracts made in the publics name in such treaties that no longer reflect the correct intent of those writing them, perhaps now is the time to look seriously at the major parts of the law controlling the over-zealous copyright limits and how best can a creator or artist be compensated without having to die before the public can hear their creations, after all if the rights owning companies fail in their duty to actually make artistic works available what is the recourse of the average person ?
