Hello, I have been a WINMX user since its conception. Unfortunately it seems that lately when i try a search I am not getting as many results as usual. I.E. say I am searching for anything by artist Joe Shmoe, before I may have had hundreds of results where as now i may receive ten. Does anyone know what or if there is a fix. I have installed and reinstalled WINMX to no avail

Not sure what patch you are using, but its possible the searches you were previously doing contained many fakes, perhaps now, the media companies have either changed the artists they are targeting, or you are now using a patch that filters your results. Ofc another possiblilty is the files you are looking for are simply no longer very popular and so less users have them shared.

Please make sure that you "Windows Firewall" rules don't include "Don't allow exceptions" I found that when you have a " check " in that box..your files are severely limited...

What ever firewall you are running johnR you must allow in able to d/load/upload or it will just block.

I am not getting anything when I search. I just keep getting waiting for results on the bottom of my page. I have Winmx 3.54 beta 4, I run windows xp sp 2. I checked my firewall, and I allow Winmx apps in my exceptions. Pls Help?!? I miss my winmx.

I read a bunch of post, and figured it out. We got a new router, and I had to forward the ports. I would never have known that if it weren't for this board. Thanks to eveyone for all the help they give.
