Our Own Tig Speaks To Zeropaid About The Future
« on: April 25, 2008, 08:16:36 am »
I have been waiting for this to appear for a day or two after hearing about the interview, nice job Tig  8)

Quote
Things have been interesting for the last year or two for WinMX users. It's been tricky following what has been happening with WinMX these days, so ZeroPaid caught up to Tigger of WinMXWorld to, among other things, see what is happening in the world of WinMX.

Last week, ZeroPaid reported on an interesting development occurring in France where a study was done to see how successful various ISP-level filtering were at filtering out P2P traffic. The results were described as many things including, "not perfect"

The study focused on a wide variety of P2P protocols in use today. One of these protocols includes WinMX. For the most part, it appeared as though WinMX was quite successful at dodging the two most well known filters. So discuss this and many other things happening in WinMX today, we turned to Tigger of WinMXWorld for an interesting interview.

This is what we need more of folks, people are not mentioning their usage of winmx a lot these days  maybe we should have a "talk-up" winmx campaign in a week or so ?

77 reads here and only 8 digg votes and 11 votes on this article...
* Me Here gets soap box out..

How many times Have i seen threads on this site about 'how can we publicise WinMX?' 'What can we do to get more attention in a possitive light on this great community'

How many times have I heard 'I love WinMX'.. well sorry about this but to look at this article with 8 digg votes and 11 article votes im not seeing it.

So first of all I'm going to explain this, we look for ways to get the word out what a great community we have here, and its not easy to find those  that will reach a large audience, This article your reading on ZeroPaid will get swept under the rug unless you do something about it.  The more votes it gets the more attention it gets the more readers it gets the more new users for mx the more returning old users.

So reading it I'm to assume that only 8 ppl can be bothered to click the Digg it button.

Look we work really hard around here to make things run and Im not looking for sympathy or thanks or anything from you all except to help yourselves here and click the button.  I'm finally asking for something....

If you really love WinMX .............prove it to me.

... so to join the dots of what to do, go to http://www.zeropaid.com/news/9434/ZeroPaid+Interviews+an+Operator+of+WinMXWorld , look for the 'Vote' button near the top, (allow permission if you use 'No Script' on Firefox), and vote. (Don't vote a second time, it will say 'Grr'.)

Me Here, although I agree with you that not everyone that read the topic probably voted, you also have ot take inot account that many people (like myself) are probably coming back to the topic to read new comments made. I doubt it was 88 unique visitors.

I added my vote earlier. I don't use digg, though.
Downloading is an addiction I do not want to give up.

Silver Stripes, whilst I have no problem with your opinion on this although I couldn't disagree more, you're correct, I was not speaking to you, but there are 100s of thousands of users of WinMX that do in fact love this network.

Trestor, Yes and click the Digg it button near the bottom of the article as well.

Cobra, You almost make me feel guilty for my post but not quite ... lol Yes I realize that the reads here are not all individual ones I think my point is clear enough for example there are usually around 40 or more ppl in the help room alone!!!  i think you get the idea from where my frustration comes.. lol

Look you'll hardly ever see a harsh word from me, but this upsets me that we have this unique once in a blue moon opportunity and its being wasted.

For ppls information, in order to Digg it, you do need to register with Digg it, its easy and painless usually, give a valid email cause you will need to activate and I assure you they only ask for a user name, password, and email and you never hear from them again ever.. lol  Its completely painless.  And its a great article too..

And I might add that one of the reasons for some users fall out of love with WinMX has been a lack of new blood, new files, new users, and this type of publicity will also improve that, so what will it kill anyone to click the button to help WinMX, unless for some reason that Im sure is not down to every other user just a few, you have complete disdain for it and everyone one of us on it?   LOL

For those of you that have voted and Dugg it thank you for you efforts to help WinMX.
