Sometimes you have to ask yourselves why no one takes action against these pro Cartel organisations that maliciously seek to subvert the democratic processes for their own selfish ends.

The EFF points us to new disturbing demands by the French version of the RIAA known as SNEP (Syndicat national de l'édition phonographique). Among the demands are a deadline for laws to be put in place that would disconnecting file-sharers from the internet and the ability to serve as police, judge and jury against French P2P users.

When it comes to making what many see as far fetched claims about copyright, many think of copyright industry bodies inside the United States. Recently though, it seems as though there are dramatic claims and demands coming out of the French copyright industry recently.

The EFF recently pointed to a posting made by La Quadrature Du Net (Squaring the Net) which shows, among other things, a leaked copy of the proposed French law.

It seems the new proposal would require the enactment of a similar government position as the US pro-IP bill that looks after the Cartels rights in precedence to anyone elses. Having laws like this passed merely serves to demonstrate the money being poured into corrupting the many global markets with governments being seen as cheap options in obtaining draconian anti consumer legislation, this quote tells the whole corrupt story.

And, incidentally, misleads the Counseil d'Etat as to how widely the Olivennes proposal is being imitated elsewhere. The document claims that Canada is considering "three strikes", and that the United States has already implemented a similar solution as "a result of agreements between ISPs and rightsholders".

It seems any lie will be used by these corporate thieves to steal more revenue from both consumer and artist alike, I have hopes the French Government takes the appropriate action when this flagrant lie is brought to its attention, or at the very least demand a more expensive bribe from the Cartel.
