incoming connection question
« on: June 26, 2008, 08:13:54 am »
Hi all

I am new to this forum but have being using Winmx since it first started .

I can download files but, My question is, most often than not when trying to download a file I get the ..waiting for incoming connection ..then the download times out, even when I try to download a file that may be say 4 of 6 available or I get queued and it does the same thing. Is this a fault with my connection. I have broadband through a NEt gear router.

Cheers

Welcome to the site Goose

When speaking of downloads there are a few reasons that so many could time out.

Have a look through this page and see if anything listed here helps you and post back to let us know

This might be a case where the ISP throttles thos connections - most likely on the other person's side if transfers work ok otherwise for you.
In that case the person will connect but transfers will be very slow and finally time out at some point.

Did you get the chance to ask the other person if they're generally having troubles - maybe even in the evening only or something the like?

Thanks Guys

Changing the AEQ to a higher settings seems to be working. Also I think that its just a matter hanging in there when it comes to downloading the files you want

Thanks
