been 24+ hrs now and still doing great. it took me awhile to get it working but sherwood is well worth the effort. i'm maintaining a steady bandwidth wich allows my uploads and downloads to remain constant, LOVE IT!!
As far as getting MX up and running, it took some trial and error, I learned a few things that were'nt apparent to begin with.
First, I deleted MX, Sherwood and all related software.
Second, I discover that if you use Norton Internet Security you must check what ports are being filtered. Apparently NIS blocks Sherwood and MX when running together, so I removed my tcp/upd ports from the filter list.
Next, I learned that with my router (Lynksys) that I had to set my static IP, this was neccessary for Sherwood to function properly, also I had to enable the WAN function.
Finally, I reinstalled MX3.53 and placed the Ws-32dll file in the same folder with MX, as per instructions, then I reinstalled Sherwood, put in my tcp port number, sarted Sherwood then MX,MXmon,PG2 inthat order and viola! within a minute I had connected with 5 primaries and seven secondaries. After a few more minutes those numbers rose, compared to previous results, quite substancely, 10 primaries and 14 secondaries. Sherwood was blocking flooders like crazy along with PG2 and has been doing so for over 24 hrs now.
All my MX functions work flawlessly and I am now a very happy camper.
