Was Google outage a warning?

The world didn’t come to an end, yesterday, when advertising behemoth Google crashed, and crashed again. But, the fact Google-induced outages caused applications such as its Gmail and Google Analytics to go down, “may call into question the reliability of Web-based applications,”

Said Google: “An error in one of our systems caused us to direct some of our web traffic through Asia, which created a traffic jam. As a result, about 14% of our users experienced slow services or even interruptions.

The mighty google doesn't seem to be able to switch to back up very quickly.

Maybe they knew it was going to happen, have you ever thought that they did not have enough time to calculate some action to either prevent it or rectify it quickly enough.

When your running Servers that handle the amount of Data that Google does, your going to have problems redirecting traffic.
