I never use to have any sounds on winmx but now I have. I've turned off the beep when I get a message, but can't turn off the beeps for everything else I do (select file, dl,). Can anyone tell me how to turn it off?

it shouldnt beep when you do such things. your not running an oddon like bendmx are you?

or maybe you run mx monie with sounds on?

if so you can switch the sounds off in the addon (the one forested named and mx monie)

when mx monie is set to make noises but misses the sounds in the right location it replaces them with beeps if i remember correctly

The options might be a little different because I'm using XP, but try this: Open device manager and click the "view" menu. Click "show hidden devices". Under Non-plug and play drivers, disable "beep" by right clicking it.

Mine used to beep when clicking on any transfers when i was on vista, annoying little bugger it was.
