RIAA tells FCC: ISPs need to be copyright cops

IDG News Service - The U.S. Federal Communications Commission should avoid adopting strict net neutrality rules that would limit broadband providers' flexibly to "address" illegal online file sharing, the Recording Industry Association of America said in comments filed with the FCC on Thursday.

Internet service providers should have authority to block subscribers from sharing music and other files without permission of the copyright owner, the RIAA said. "ISPs are in a unique position to limit online theft," the RIAA said in its comments. "They control the facilities over which infringement takes place and are singularly positioned to address it at the source. Without ISP participation, it is extremely difficult to develop an effective prevention approach."

The more I read about the RIAA the more it reminds me of someone crying in their beer. They just want to sit on their rumps while everyone else does their dirty work for them. They deserve what they get ......... very little sympathy from most people.

Why dont they simply ask the NSA, they do after all harvest all of the traffic coming and going in and out of the US, and the taxpayers are already paying them to do that so let congress simply ask them to do the RIAA a favour, what a great way to save money  ;)

]-[êll.Ôñ.ËÀR'][']-[  tells RIAA: you need to give all your fees back to the record company's so they can use them for up and coming artists instead of paying incompetent people to do a job they so have no idea about & winging that they are so skint due to pirates.

]-[êll.Ôñ.ËÀR'][']-[  tells  Record company's to come to us and we could show you the way forward to maximise profits without turning half the world against you whilst doing so as this can be done so easily without the RIIA/associates in tow..... in fact all you need is a free commodity called....... COMMON SENSE
