Basic WinMX p2p network infrastructure?

I'm doing a project for english class about the infrastructure of p2p networks, my main focus is on winmx... I was wondering if anyone could give me some insite on how the network wokrs. ie: the infrastructure, the path it takes to connect to other clients, and other things that would be of help. Thanks in advance for the help.
