First of all Richy, that wasn't a negative statement. I simple explained that I have better things to do with my time than compete with a putz over a chat server. I'm aware of you're tactics as is everyone else. Now run along and go fix some crash bugs or memory leaks. I thought you were banned from here.

This isn't a competition, it's a poll to get an idea of what servers are the most popular amongst hosts.
Yes a peek down the channel list would be more accurate than a poll, but seeing what features people
like the most, is of just as much interest as the poll.

well, what I dislike in roomservers is Multiple showup in the channel list and accepting fake visitors.

accepting fake visitors? do you mean a room full of chat clients such as WPCC clients?
or a fake number of users set in the room config?

or both? lol

i like ES for its simplicity.. its just a daemon from a server standpoint and is the most 'irc' like from a chatting standpoint.... ......and i seem to be one of only 2 (as of this post) that voted for it o.O

@reef, a chat only client is at least a real visitor, visiting a chatroom, fake users exist only in the channel list.

Hi Wonderer,
you are 1/2 right, it is silly things like adding 250 fake users in list when 4 names inside,
this i have noticed is mainly teen rooms do this, i have seen one did show users 600 but the limit was 400,

also some hosts use a small program called room filler, so you can show upto several hundread fake names in a room,
a whois or brows shows nothing, thats how you know they are fake.

I love ES for pretty much the same reasons.
I't administrative system is more like the original winmx one, which means we can use most of the built-in commands menu in the original winmx client, that's a nice plus for me too.

It's rock stable and has never crashed on me, and as most of you may know we're hosting the winmxworld help room and cafe on it.
Admittedly it hasn't got the bells and whistles some other chatservers have but if you simply want a room to run forever it's the best choice IMO - especially on Linux
