WinXM keeps crashing and I get a message asking me if I want to send an error report to the WinMX Developers. I clicked Don't Send. I need some help because I can't get WinMX back up without it crashing.

I am running it with BendMX and MXMonitor. This has just occured and i dont know what is going wrong. When WinMX crashed before it never asked me if I wanted to send an error report to the WinMX developers. I got a little scared when i saw that thinking that the RIAA was doing something. I dont know why i thought them but they where the first ones that came to my mind. I have my Peer Guardian on and it has never let me down before. I wish i knew what was going on but i am soo lost.

What WinMX version are you running, windows version, and what patches are you using to get it connected? (PIE patch/1.9 patch from winmxgroup.com) My suspects are BendMX, but that's not necessarily the cause. My WinMX has been crashing for some periods, and been fine at other periods.
Does this happen when you use WinMX? (such as doing a search, switching a chat room, starting a transfer) or just when you aren't using WinMX at all?

The error report is normal part of WinMX, although as with most error reports the same rule applies..DONT send.

This is happenening every time I open WinMX. I am using WinMX v3.53 and The PIEPatch 2.6. Every time I open WinMX it will stay open for 1 minute then it will shut down. It will stay open for EXACTLY 1 MINUTE!!!!!

Omega if you still have BendMX installed, uninstall it and try. You can also bypass that error if you ignore that by not clicking on it and just moving it so that you can access the chat button and your favorites.. it will just sit there waiting for you to click to end the program..

No me when it says that it will shut down the program without me touching anything. This is why I was getting scared because when this happened the first time I was using WinMX i didnt hit anything untill i was ready to shut down and WinMX was still running. This is very weird. I am going to try and get rid of BendMX and I will tell you if it works or not. I am not home at the moment. I am at school. I will be home in about a half an hour. Will do it then.

If I remember correctly there used to be an issue with BendMx which I don't think has been fixed.
It involved renaming one of the dll's differently but I can't remember exactly, so I'll let one of the experts answer that one...
Anyhow, uninstalling BendMx should fix it so I'd recommend that till someone posts what dll to rename or what else can be done to run both the patch and BendMx.

Well as Omega mentioned hes running a 2.6 Hosts file for connecting so no chance of a conflict with the .dll ...

The issue is a known bug that the BendMX and WinMX versions 3.5x have, its been around since that version of BendMX 3.99 alpha 3 came out.

But FYI:
Yes on the original ws2_32.dll you did have to rename it however on the install 1.9 it takes care of that for you.

An interesting note tho, the install 1.9 works fine with your BendMX or RCMS you have installed but.. If you install BendMX or RCMS over the patch it will overwrite it and you will loose the function of the Ws2_32.dll for connecting your WinMX. So if this happens a reinstall of the patch will fix ya up..

If you delete your Ws2_32.dll you will most certainly F* up your machine.. .lol

Your not using that for a patch...

After talking with you I still believe the crashing is a result of the BendMX as I said before..

But it might have been a good idea if someone would have listened when you told them you were on the pie fix.. lol

Well that patch i got yesturday is helping alot. Now we just need to work on my beautiful BendMX. LOL J/K. It would be nice to be able to use it like old times. I'm not suggesting that anyone go and fix it it dont mind not using it. I lve WinMX and will do everything in my power to help keep it open wether it is supplying money or anything that it needs.
