Hi MP,
Most cable modems dont have the NAT (Network Address Translation) capability to forward ports.

Can you tell me a bit more information.

What has got you thinking you need to forward ports?  A message you got when attempting a primary connection to WinMX?
What other equipment do you have?
What operating system do you have?
Do you have Norton 2005?
What firewalls do you use?

Holla at me about this and we shall see if we cant get you fixed up...

I´ve got  Win XP Home Edition.

I use the Firewall that Windows got, plus AVG Free Edition.

What kind of equipment do you wanna know about?

Okay well the cable modem wont be blocking you, as it doesnt have a way to allow or block ports.

So maybe I should ask what are you trying to accomplish or what problems are you having?

My main problem is that, when I try to install the newest patch, it says "Install Failed". Plus I can´t get a Primary connection.

MP there are two reasons that the Install will 'Fail'

One is if your running WinMX at the time your trying to install it wont work. WinMX has to be off.

The other is if you didnt get a complete download of the Install Version 1.9 from the page originally.

The file size should be 1.3MB when its complete.  If its not that size please redownload it until it is.

After the installation is complete, fire up your WinMX and if you cant get a primary do this.

Next you may have to manually configure the ports in your WinMX.

Go to Settings > Internet Connection > Incoming TCP and set this to port number 6699.

Now go to In/Out UDP and set this to port 6257.

Let me know how this goes..

The patch is on 1,3 MB

Closes WinMX.

The patch fails.

Restarts my comp.

The patch still fails.
