Hi QUEENCRE,

Many times users attemp more then one patch or fix and this can cause conflicts.  So in order to help you best its easiest to start from scratch or fresh.  Below you will find a link that explains in detail exactly how to do this.

https://forum.winmxworld.com/viewtopic.php?t=970

Follow these instructions or maybe print these instructions out for reference while you go through the steps.  If you have any ?s or problems with this let me know.  We will get you connected!

Guest I have had a few folks have this problem after they installed Microsoft updates, I am still unclear exactly which ones might have created this problem.

Also there is a known issue with Internet Explorer 7.0Beta, so if you by chance has installed this recently that may be your problem.

One suggestion I have is to use the 98/ME users patch we have and see if this helps the crashing issue.
You can get it and the appropriate version of WinMX with that same installer you already have.  Install 1.9, simply reinstall but when it asks what operating system you have tell it to use 98/ME for installation, then let me know if you still encounter this problem ..

Keep in mind that particular version of the Patch does NOT have any flooding protection in it, so if your using a primary and it works fine you will also need to install Peerguardian which you can find here:

Thanks..

It's just a disadvantage of secondaries I'm afraid, the disconnects, the problem is whenever a primary goes offline for whatever reason (reboot, network glitch, goes to bed & wants to save electricity) about a dozen people that were connected secondary to them disconnect.. & have to reconnect...so secondaries are always shifting around, the longest I remember ever holding one was about 72 hours...

I can't say if this is better or worse since the changover from frontcode's servers... I've been running as a primary, though perhaps more people are watching for it than were, after all we all saw that horrid yellow flashing for days.....
Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall not be disappointed.
