I've been around for a while now ....but just got back online after a break so my servers are just back up and running i prefare winmx to all other clients so ya all can come visit if you want 20 files minimum and no porn please the network name is:

Which network? i like being nosey.
I had considered reopening mine a few times over the last week or two, i miss it if im honest. although its a very thank-less job, you usually get people moaning more than you get a TY.

Can be thankless at times but hassle free and runs itself

this happens when you sudenly disconnect or something.

The server did not get a "dissconnect me from the server" message so it still assumes you are still conected. The server updates in about 5 mins and you should be able to coonnect  10 minutes.

In the rarest of rre cases, there might be another guy with the same nick
but as I said this is rare.

that can also happen if you are still trying to login in using a diffrent hostname that is also pointing at the same server. some servers can have 4 or 5 diffrent hostnames in the same list pointing at the same server. you will only be able to login in to that server once though with the same name. so as each attempt is made it flags that up as already being conencted

While both of the previous explanations are applicable in some cases, neither are applicable here. The problem here is a single network listing four different network names. Since MX, and all other clients, use the network name to tell them what networks they are already connected to, and therefore should no longer attempt further connections, when a network does not use a consistent name, this is the result. His client thinks well OK. i am already connected to Rise of the Phoenix, but not Apollo, when it actually already is connected to Apollo (and the other 2 as well). This is a simple case of a network misusing the network name field. All of the servers in that image are linked to each other, and yet each one lists a different network name. The wasted attempts and confusion are the inevitable result.

those networks are all linked as an affiliation but enabling us to keep our own identities the confusion it creates is unfortunate but most users catch on fast
