Windows/Mac: If you’re not in need of the latest and greatest image-editing software, Adobe is currently offering the 2005 version of its Creative Suite for free, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.

To get the free download, you need a free Adobe Member account. Once you sign up (the member application page is a bit slow this morning) you can download the entire suite or individual applications for free. You can get:

    Acrobat Pro 8.0
    Audition 3.0

    Illustrator

    InDesign
    Photoshop

The software is a bit outdated at this point, but if you have an older computer, or you simply don’t need all the new bells and whistles, CS2 will fit your needs. The suite has a little trouble running on newer operating systems.

This is very public spirited of them, in the end it will in fact help them retain a userbase as goodwill and folks who know how to use your software makes for a more resilient customer base in the lean years, something Microsoft knew from day one when someone there stated that if there has to be software pirates they would rather the pirates where running windows than a rival operating system.
