outgoing TCP and proxy server

I downloaded patch program and still cant make primary connection. I am on a wireless router. I get message when I try to make primary conection that says. Cannot make primary connection to network, Outgoing TCP connections use proxy server.
 How do I fix this on a windows XP system. Thank you. Albert

It depends if outgoing TCP connections actually DO use a proxy server, EITHER you have a configuration issue with your setup, OR you can't make a primary connection without a change of hardware or ISP..

Might be able to tell more if you'd posted exactly what router & said who your ISP was

I am using a linksis router and My ISP is adelphia cable
