The copright tax Cartel have scored a victory it seems, although it must be said that its taken them many years to reach this stage.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/03/19/us-mp3tunes-infringement-idUSBREA2I29J20140319The former chief executive of bankrupt online music storage firm MP3tunes was found liable Wednesday for infringing copyrights for sound recordings, compositions and cover art owned by record companies and music publishers once part of EMI Group Ltd.
A federal jury in Manhattan found Michael Robertson, the former MP3tunes chief executive, and the defunct San Diego-based company liable on various claims that they infringed on copyrights associated with artists including The Beatles, Coldplay and David Bowie.
You'll all notice I hope that this news article says "copyrights associated with artists" this doesn't mean the artists themselves as it may imply but instead the recording industry labels who operate the copyright tax system to enrich themselves while the creators get a small share.
This ruling clearly shows how as a "rights holder" you can earn more suing folks than the entire cost of bringing the music to global markets
